I recently spent a week in Nashville, Tennessee, and for the first time in 13 years since I left the state, I felt a deep, compelling desire to return. Even when I had the chance to move to Fort Campbell in 2013, I declined for various personal and professional reasons. This recent visit was different—it was both humbling and rejuvenating.
With my brother living in Nashville, two sisters in Columbia, and my mom and youngest sister in Clarksville, the connections to Tennessee feel stronger than ever. My best friends are in Chattanooga, adding to the sense of belonging. Being there in July felt right, as though it was finally time.
With this renewed sense of purpose, I’m excited to announce that I’m making plans to return. With any luck, I hope to be back in Tennessee within the next 12-18 months.
